An atypical product of derisive social climate, dysfunctional family upbringing and an uncanny knack for finding emotionally abusive folks Jupey uses her art as an escape from the dim realities and struggles we as individuals face in every day in life. By finding beauty in the simple, mundane and even in the ugliness. Her work oscillates between a fine appreciation for the simple beauty of reflective light, and sardonic calling out on social injustices. Art is her life, her love and her passion. Whether it be landscape , still life or figurative works , color and light are her muses.  Jupey creates evocative snapshots of life using surreal lighting and fantastical color, the kind that takes your breath away. Occasionally, you’ll find an Easter-egg smattering of juicy political satire and/or dry humor sprinkled within.

Being formally trained as an illustrator Jupey works in a variety of media but has a natural finesse for Pen & Ink , Watercolor and Gouache although oils are her passion. She has a love affair with art. People come and go in one’s lifetime yet , art is a constant. Art is her BFF, her sun, moon and stars and since the early 90’s she has participated in a variety of exhibitions throughout the midwest and DC Metro Area.
